As you can see from the photos I have done a bit of work on this one. I didn’t take any ‘before’ photos, but did take some half way through. I sanded the bottom right back to bring the original colour out. I colour matched old ding repairs to soften their effect on the appearance. You can see that the decal had been damaged. I was intending to patch in a repair, this didn’t happen. The decal had been installed between the glass and the filler coat and had delaminated and kept chipping off. I had to sand right back, put a new decal on and then refiller coated the bottom of the board around to the lap line on the deck. I redid the pinline and the job was done.
Yes, it has had some work, but I have kept it as original as possible. The only paint added was to patch in repairs as you can see. The board weighs in under 5kgs (no weight added) and is completely sealed and ready to surf.
We can also restore as display boards, but prefer to get them back in the water, if possible.
