Vintage Field Trip

I got back about a week ago from a field trip looking for new stuff. I’ve come up with a couple of dozen new, old stock photo’s from a renowned Hawaiian photographer ( an example is the one on this post). Photo’s include ‘close out’ Waimea Bay, Eddie Aikau and Ronnie Burns, as well as Gerry Lopez at Pipe, and are well worth a look. We also picked a few boxes of various magazines and stuff that I haven’t even had time to sort through yet, but I know there are various fins in one of the boxes. I spoke with a couple of collectors who are looking to downsize collections and I will be picking through their stuff over the next 12 months. In the meantime, if you are looking for particular items, they are happy to look through their collections to source them. In particular, books: 60’s-80’s , mags :mainly 70’s and 80’s  ( all titles), and many surf movie posters and vinyl sound tracks. IN gallery section under photos there will be some samples of their stuff. There will be some ‘rider’ retro boards, but not so many big name boards, coming as well. While away we picked up a 10’6″ Double balsa stringer Keyo ( I don’t really want to sell this one) and a Gordon Woods 9’8″ (I think, can confirm length on request) mid 60’s mals. We also picked up an early 70’s Keyo and an early 80’s Mike Davis ( twin fins glassed in with a small fin box), and a couple of kneeboards. A flextail and a scoop deck. We also still have an early 70’s Hayden waiting for some repairs. All need some minor repairs before going on site, however, if you have an interest or want photos, contact us.

I am still looking for some surf artists to show in our gallery section, ( this section is not for sale, AND DOESN’T COST ANYTHING TO DISPLAY). The artworks don’t have to be faultless, but should be interesting. There are a lot of good artists that hide/store their works in a cupboard and never show anyone, lets change that. Moving on, if you want to sell or someone makes an offer on your stuff we can work out a deal.

I have a local surf photographer that will be showing his works soon, we are just trying to make a time for a meet.

I also have a couple of leads on artists that may be interested in showing, again, just waiting to make contact.

It takes me a huge amount of time to log all magazines, so would be easier for me if you made inquiries, and there is huge savings to be made by buying in bulk, especially the ASL and WAVES mags ( we also picked up more of these that are waiting to be sorted.

Don’t forget!!!!! If you are travelling through the Mid North Coast and have the time, we have lots of stuff to look at. Not necessarily for sale, but a great look anyway.

Well, until next time. Happy Surfing.
